The summer of 1980 was the hottest summer on record here in the metroplex with temperatures peaking at 119 in Weatherford and 113 Fort Worth. (Now that’s hot not warm) Homeowners were calling in to get new systems installed that other companies had told them their current unit needed to be replaced. And the other companies either didn’t have access to equipment, the workforce to install the systems or were too expensive.

I was a teenager just getting into the trade. My dad was showing me how to check and properly diagnose Air Conditioning units at our loading dock.
